First NABC Practice Tournament results
The first tournament to prepare our players for the NABC Online Individual was held over the weekend. After two days the honor roll:

A few quick pointers and explanations
This first practice tournament does deviate from the actual event coming up in July as we have not completed some of the code changes required. As we draw closer to the big day, our practice tournaments will resemble the actual NABC tournament more. And we will hold at least one "full dress rehearsal", likely in the weekend preceeding the actual tournament where every single detail will resemble the full tournament as closely as we can make it.
For newcomers to this form of tournament, think of the practice tournaments as a way to dip your toes into the sometimes murky world of robot bridge. Of course, experienced robot players can just think of this as a bonus tournament to finetune your skills.
About "Best Hand"
ACBL's first NABC Online Individual uses "Best Hand" when dealing boards. You need to understand some implications of "Best Hand" style games.
“Best Hand” in this event means this: The human player will always receive at least the most High Card Points (HCP) for every deal. He may also tie for most HCP. (ie, East and South may each have 15 HCP, North and West each hold 10 HCP divided between their hands.) Some immediate thoughts about Best Hand style games:
