Weekend Objective Details:
Should you choose to accept this season's NABC Online Mission, you will do so accompanied by supportive Robots. We've got your six! This weekend, join us in special events designed to help you improve your chances at the NABC Online.
On Saturday and Sunday (July 14, 15), step into ACBL World to discover the NABC Online Practice Tournament. This tournament is free to play and everyone is welcome. You'll get a taste of what we mean by "Deal Pool" (not everyone plays the same board), "Time Limit" (although you have ultimate flexibility in deciding your play time, once you begin play you need to complete your hands within a set, generous time limit), "Best Hand" (you will always have at least the most HCP in every board) and "Human Declare" (if either you or your partner wins the contract, you will always be rotated to declare.)
Even if you already play a lot of Robot tournaments on BBO and know what they entail, you'll want to try the 2 practice tournaments this weekend. The winners of each practice tournament will receive a full refund for their NABC Online Entry.
We've also designed another tool to equip you for your quest to be the best. On Sunday (July 15) 1 PM Eastern Time, you'll want to come to BBO and attend a teaching session by Josh Donn, a 3 time NABC Champion who hasn't even hit 40 yet. This is also free for everyone. Josh will be giving tips and examples on how to improve your declarer play. Around 1 PM, login to BBO and enter Vugraph. The table will be linked there when the session begins.
Your final objective this weekend is of course, to actually register for the NABC Online. Entry fee is $40 with the early bird preregistration discount. This is the only NABC level event you can play from the comforts of your home and for much cheaper than any of the "irl" NABC events. It is also your only opportunity to win Red or Gold ACBL Masterpoints and the ultimate prize - an NABC Title, on the internet.
If you are on the fence because you think you're not good enough, don't worry. This event is actually stratified - you will be compared among your peers.
