What Is the Free Weekend Survivor?

The Free Weekend Survivor is a 2-day, daylong-style survivor tournament with robots. Everyone is welcome to test their skills in Day 1, but only the top 25% finishers will qualify to proceed to Day 2.

How It Works

Day 1 (Saturday)

• Open to all players, free entry.
• Just Declare format (no bidding).
• 8 boards, Matchpoints.
• The top 25% finishers qualify for Day 2 (Sunday).

Day 2 (Sunday)

• Restricted to players who qualified in Day 1.
• 12 boards, Matchpoints.

Key Features

• Human Declares: You always declare when your side wins the contract.
• Best Hand: In each deal, you receive the hand with the highest (or tied for the highest) high-card points at the table.
• Deal Pools: For security purposes, not all players receive the same deals.

FAQs

• Can I join directly on Day 2? No, only players who qualify in Day 1 are eligible for Day 2.
• What happens if I don’t finish all boards in Day 1? You won’t qualify for Day 2, and you'll be eliminated from the event.
• How do I know if I qualified? You will see a Qualified column in the final results from Day 1, and a message at the top of the leaderboard will specify whether you have qualified for Day 2. Eligible players will see the second session on BBO on Sunday, while disqualified players will no longer have access to it.
• Are the boards the same for everyone? No, the event uses multiple deal pools, which means players may have different deals. This ensures fairness and prevents collusion.
• Is there a fee to participate? No, the event is completely free.
• How can I view my results?
  • You can view Provisional results after each session, throughout the day, as soon as you complete your boards.
  • Your final results, after each session and when the event completes, will be sent to your BBO Mailbox.
  • You can also access your results under Recent Tournaments in the 'History' tab.
